Service delivery during COVID-19 pandemic

Due to the ongoing pandemic, and to help keep you and our colleagues safe we’re following national guidance and minimising face to face contacts. We will continue to support you through video consultation, telephone consultations and virtual clinics and we’ll see you face to face where this is safe, and the most appropriate way to support you in line with the national guidance.

Community Cardiac Team

We are based on the 2nd Floor, Bickerstaffe House in Ormskirk District General Hospital but operate clinics at health centres across West Lancs. We also offer home visits for those patients unable to attend clinic.

The service provides care and support to patients with cardiac conditions, predominantly heart failure, especially following a recent hospital admission, a new diagnosis or recent intervention. This care pathway involves liaison with your GP and/or hospital consultant.

These conditions include heart attack, valvular heart disease, coronary artery bypass graft, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, angioplasty, stents, ICD and biventricular pacemaker implants.
